He guided members with regards to their preparations for the SM&CR regime for senior managers which commences on 9th December. Members were updated by our expert Stephen Atkins; the most common errors were not having the firm’s CEO current registered as a CF3 and falling behind in preparation of SM Statement of Responsibilities. Our AML expert Stuart Lennon ran AML policy and procedures workshop, which was well received, and members were updated by Dave Benbow from the Illegal Money Lending Team, on the Jewellery Market from Doug Henry from the Birmingham Assay Office. Kerry Gregory of Gemmology Rocks discussed how to make money out of coloured gemstones and James Watkins discussed ‘How to Engage in Local Public Affairs’.
