The National Pawnbrokers Association announced the Award winners for 2025-26 at our Awards Dinner at the Hilton, Tower Bridge, London on Friday 10th October. The winners were as follows;
President’s Award for Lifetime Achievement- Peter Kenyon (Ramsdens Financial Services)
This Award was presented due to Peter working tirelessly to professionalise the NPA, strengthen our reputation and help raise the standards of pawnbroking nationwide. Through his support encouragement and strategic initiatives, he helped establish greater unity within our community. Supporting ethical practices and backing our members has not only advanced the profession but has ensured that pawnbroking continues to be a trusted and valued services for countless individuals.

Employer of the Year WINNER – The Lewy Group
Opening in 1994 with a single store, expanding to 30 stores in 2025. Their submission to the judging panel included a new starter program, 100% of their managers had completed the NPA pawnbroking course. Their stores pawn a variety of products including Handbags, sneakers, watches and Pokémon cards. Regular recognition events, strong employee benefits all of which embrace Consumer Duty framework.
Employee of the Year – Mariana Vlad (New Bond Street Pawnbrokers)
The founder stated that employing Mariana was the best decision he ever made. Mariana has passion for appraising high value assets, driven to improve results and leads the social media projects.
Community Contribution - Ramsdens
Throughout the year Ramsdens have once again demonstrated how they support both local and national charities. Raising £77k for Teesside Hospice, funding over 3000 hours of specialist care. Over £50k to other charities including Macmillan Cancer Research, Breast Cancer Now, planting over 1000 trees, and not forgetting the Loose Coin scheme and raising £16k.
Student of the Year- Logan Dicken (H&H Pawnbrokers trading as Wants Cash Centre)
This award is based on achieving top marks in the NPA’s Excellence in Pawnbroking Certification.
Charity
During our Awards Dinner our members showed their generosity once again by raising £1878 for ‘The Give a Duck Foundation’, children’s cancer charity. An additional £1000 was raised by auction, the winners were Pantbanken Sverige and Miltons (Liverpool), which I know the charity will be very grateful.
